Nickel-63 (63Ni) is electrically deposited on a rectangular non radioactive nickel backing and covered with a protective
nickel layer. A variety of sizes, shapes and activities are available on request. Sources can be shipped in customer supplied holders. Source beta emission is characterized by ionization current created by the source placed into a flat free-air ionization chamber.
Cylinder-shaped sources can have radii down to L/2Π, where L is source length. Ionization current is determined before the source is shaped to cylinder.
* maximum practical surface activity load is ~ 10 mCi/cm2
* tolerance: ±10%
ISO classification: C33221
recommended working life: 5 years in air atmosphere,
10 years in inert gas atmosphere. Storage in inert gas
atmosphere is suggested when not in use.
